The Full Story

About

Lina is a Palestinian Arabic violin player and a film and media scoring composer. Originally from Haifa, she graduated from Beit Almusica Conservatory before moving to Boston, MA, to pursue a degree in film and media scoring at Berklee College of Music. During her time at Berklee, she served as a Screen Scoring Department Assistant and Head Librarian, where her role as a key copyist enhanced the precision of advanced orchestration class recording sessions. She is currently living in Los Angeles, working as an independent composer, performer, orchestrator and concert master at Alwani Middle Eastern Orchestra and interning at Fine Line Music Service.

Performances

Since 2016, Lina has been deeply involved in independent violin performance, contributing to events, concerts, and collaborating with local choirs and orchestras, often playing to audiences of up to 700. A notable experience includes her contribution to the recording of the latest Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed video game soundtrack, "Mirage," alongside composer Brendon Angelis at Berklee Power Station Studio as part of the New York Arabic Orchestra.

Experience 

Currently serving as a Screen Scoring Department Assistant at Berklee, Lina, in her role as a key copyist, enhances precision in advanced orchestration class recording sessions. She has had the privilege to be an Arranger Assistant to April DiDomenico, preparing for the Berklee Alumni Award show. In addition, Lina orchestrated and prepared scores for acclaimed composers such as Alan Silvestri and Mike Post, while actively collaborating with the department coordinator on various tasks like event documentation, and poster design for departmental announcements. Furthermore, Lina takes on the role of a Live Mixing Engineer, arranging stage setups and mic equipment for performances across Berklee venues, including the prestigious Berklee Performance Center.

Accomplishments

Lina has recently excelled in composing ballroom music for the student animated short film "The Purrfect Party" at UMass University and crafting Christmas-themed music for the independent Palestinian short film "Old Decorations" by Rami Fahel.

Noteworthy among her achievements are the Berklee World Tour Scholarship, Berklee Thrive Scholarship, and Al Qattan Scholarship, which have fueled her academic and artistic endeavors.
